Installation

Prerequisites​

  • VS Code 1.93 or later
  • OS: Windows, macOS, or Linux

No additional dependencies, API keys, or account setup required for basic monitoring.

tip

For reliable monitoring in your normal VS Code/Cursor terminals, keep Terminal > Integrated > Shell Integration enabled. If you change that setting, restart the affected terminals. On Windows, use PowerShell / pwsh rather than cmd for full native tracking.

Install from the Marketplace​

  1. Open VS Code
  2. Open the Extensions panel (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  3. Search for "UnfoldAI"
  4. Click Install

Command Line​

code --install-extension TalDennis-UnfoldAI-ChatGPT-Copilot.unfoldai

Verify Installation​

After installation, you'll see the UnfoldAI icon in the Activity Bar (left sidebar). Click it to open the UnfoldAI panel.

Open Command Center when Safe Agent Mode is enabled. You're ready to go - for most users no extra configuration is needed for local validation, Activity, Safety, prompts, and manual checkpoints. Native terminal capture works best when shell integration is enabled.
