Installation

Prerequisites​

  • VS Code 1.93 or later
  • OS: Windows, macOS, or Linux

No additional dependencies, API keys, or account setup required for basic monitoring.

tip

For reliable monitoring in your normal VS Code/Cursor terminals, keep Terminal > Integrated > Shell Integration enabled. If you change that setting, restart the affected terminals. On Windows, use PowerShell / pwsh rather than cmd for full native tracking.

Install from the Marketplace​

  1. Open VS Code
  2. Open the Extensions panel (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  3. Search for "UnfoldAI"
  4. Click Install

Command Line​

code --install-extension TalDennis-UnfoldAI-ChatGPT-Copilot.unfoldai

Verify Installation​

After installation, you'll see the UnfoldAI icon in the Activity Bar (left sidebar). Click it to open the UnfoldAI panel.

The Dashboard view loads by default. You're ready to go — for most users no extra configuration is needed. UnfoldAI starts monitoring as soon as your AI agents run, and native terminal capture works best when shell integration is enabled.
